New Range of Marble Tiles

After a recent call in demand for an extended range of marble tiles, we have increased our range to include 4 new tiles, Cappuccino in both Polished and Tumbled, Emperador Polished, and our newest addition Beige Polished.

We have selected our new Marble Tiles with a lot of consideration and we are very happy with both the quality and consistency in colour that we ourselves set such high standards for. We are very confident that they will be an excellent addition to our range, so if you have a project coming up why not have a look and hopefully you will agree with us.

Cappuccino Marble is a fairly well known in the industry and one of the most beautiful of the Marble Tiles available, supplied in either a 610x406mm Highly Polished format with neat square cut edges, It is often used in contemporary areas to create a modern clean look. The Cappuccino Marble is also available in Tumbled and comes in an Opus Romano Pattern (4 size mix) to create a more rustic and homely feel yet still keeping a beautiful, subtle colour variation that will give a feeling of warmth.

The Emperador Marble is available in 610x40mm Polished with square cut edges and is a nice alternative to other mid coloured tiles available, it has warm brown tones with interesting patternation throughout and the polished finish is the perfect complement to show off the interesting veining and graining. Quite often used in premium developments, yet totally suitable for any project where a bit of luxury is looking to be added, Emperador Marble looks set to be a future classic.

Our Beige Marble is the newest addition to our range and we are sure it will be one of the most successful, with subtle patterning it is one of the simplest tiles we do which to some is its greatest appeal. Available in 610x406mm with square cut edges and highly polished surface our Beige Marble is a simply Beautiful tile that will last a life time.

We are certainly very proud of our new range of Marble tiles and we are confident you will love them just as much as we do, so when your next project is coming, why not consider Marble, you could be pleasantly surprised.

Travertine Warehouse is Moving

We are moving....

After 5 years of operating out of A.E. Roberts Nursery in Shirrell Heath, just outside of Wickham and north of Fareham, we are delighted to have been given the opportunity by Winchester City Council to leave our small yard to go to pastures new. And new they are, a totally dedicated new site built from the ground up and on a completely regenerated site in Portsmouth.

The new site has given us the chance to not only to operate from a much larger and more accessible suet but to re-brand as Natural Stone and Timber, as well as having new warehousing facilities and a totally fresh start with showrooms, display gardens and a whole new customer experience, and far from our days of working out of portacabins.

The regeneration of Voyager North, off Airport Service Road, Portsmouth, is on the site of the former Portsmouth Gas Works, and only minutes from the M27 and A27. We have custom designed and built on a plot of 1 acre, from the complete construction of the groundworks below, with advanced water management separating out any contaminants and reducing the flow of water into the system. We will have over 4500sq. foot of Warehouse space, and a vast area for outside storage of our external products and around 2000 sq. foot of office space. This will enable us to really expand our range of products, enhance the experience for our customers, and provide a huge platform to continue our expansion in years to come.

Works are due to be complete in the early part of the summer this year with a final date when we will be fully operational around June of this year. We will be continuing to clear stock from our current site, and we aim to keep stock of most items until the last possible moment to ensure we are still able to provide our customers with the products they need when they need them.

We are looking forward to going to Portsmouth and you can be assured that our knowledgeable and helpful staff will all be making the move too, we aim to keep the same friendly atmosphere in our new offices as we have now, and we welcome you to pop in, say hello, and even join us for a coffee to discuss any future requirements you might have.

If you would like any more information regarding our move, or would like to keep in touch with us for any future promotions, offers or news, please drop us an e-mail with your name, and address if you like good old fashioned hard copies to rob@landscaping-supplies.net

Chipped Edge or Tumbled Unfilled?

A couple of our products that become increasingly popular over the last year or so are the two more rustic looking tiles; Chipped Edge Filled and Honed Travertine, and the Tumbled Unfilled Travertine, both of which are available in a single size, or the more popular Opus Romano Pattern. Each of the two has its advantages, the Chipped Edge being that it offers a country feel to any room, with wider gout gaps and a flagstone floor effect, whilst the Tumbled Unfilled gives a soft homely feel with a raw natural beauty about it, and a sense of purity from being in its most untouched form.

The reason that people are moving towards these types of tiles is mostly down to these characteristics, less and less people are looking for that modern look, and instead opting for something that feels homely and welcoming, and creating a sense of well being in their homes.
At Travertine Warehouse we realise that its sometimes difficult to make a decision on something that you are going to have to look at every day, so we offer a free sample facility enabling you to look at a piece of the current batch of tiles, in the comfort of your own home. Travertine is becoming an increasingly popular choice for living space flooring due to its hard wearing and low maintenance qualities, and in the case of the case of the Chipped Edge and Tumbled Unfilled tiles along with all our others, its good to know that you can combine something stylish and durable, with something that will really enhance your home, whether modern or not.

Granite - A great choice for any project

Granite has always been a formidable building material, from the first railroad in America in the 1820s to the Castle in Edinburgh. In recent times it has become a much used modern material due to the advances in manufacturing technology, for Granite Countertops and Worktops, along with paving, cobbles and curbstones. It has also become one of the most used Monumental Stones.

As such a hard material it is very strong and in certain situations can last thousands of years, certainly longer than most of the houses it is used in and around. It is a truly impressive material, and this is something that the public have really started to notice over the past few years. As a result of this surge in popularity prices have taken a turn in the favour of the customer, due to the amount that is suddenly being produced to meet this new demand and the new supply sources from China, India, Spain and Portugal.

With so many variations in colour and pattern Granite is one of the most diverse of the natural stones, with a huge range of colour, it would be hard not to find one that suits you. Our granite is sourced directly from the Quarries in India an Portugal, and as an importer we can bring sensible prices directly to the customer, cutting out the middle man, and making something which could be otherwise out of reach an option well worth considering.

As a product for the consumer granite comes in many forms, from Tiles and Worktops with highly polished surfaces giving an aesthetically pleasing modern feel to any home, to Granite Paving and Cobbles or Setts, which can bring any garden or driveway into the 21st century. Granite really can make a lasting impression, and it certainly is worth incorporating into your design, why not ask for a sample before you start your next project it might make all the difference.

Beautiful Balinese Pebble Mobile Tiles

One of our more unusual products is our Balinese Pebble Mosaics, sourced directly from the manufacturers in Bali; these hand picked mosaic sheets are fantastic. For many applications where a textured finish is required the choices are few and far between, but with our Pebble Mosaic we can offer something different that will add a new dimension to any room.

Giving a fantastic feel underfoot, these Pebble Mosaics will gently massage your feet as you walk across them, they also work very well on walls where a more rustic look is sought. Available in four colours you will find that they can be used almost anywhere to give a beautiful undulated surface, some are even used outdoors for decorative mosaic features on pillars, walls or benches.

As with all natural stone products, there is some degree of variation within the Pebble Mosaics which is to be expected, but each pebble has been hand picked for its unique characteristics and beauty.

Often used sparingly to add small pieces of texture to a border or window ledge, these mosaics provide an ideal solution to covering even the most awkward of spaces. The sheets are mesh backed so can be cut easily, and pebbles can be separated from their sheets and individually placed to fill any small gaps, a problem that can cause nightmares to even the most skilled tiler. Each sheet is designed to overlap with the next, hiding any obvious joints and allowing for a seamless flow of pebbles across any space.

You can see these on our website at http://www.travertinewarehouse.co.uk/pebble_mosaics/pebble_mosaics.htm

You can also ring us on 01329 836275 if you would like a sample or a quotation.

New Inovative Colour Enhancer And Impregnator

Universeal, our preferred supplier of natural stone tile cleaners, impregnators, sealers and colour enhancers, have just come out with an innovative impregnator and colour enhancer in one.

It is called Stone Foam. As the name suggests this impregnator comes in aerosol form and is applied to the surface like shaving foam. This sounds a little strange but has great results as it clings to vertical surfaces and gets into all those hard to reach pits on tumbled travertine mosaics or tumbled travertine tiles ensuring an even coat to the hardest to reach parts of your tiles.

Universeal's Stone foam has some other advantages as it is water based and so does not create the level of fumes you get from a solvent based impregnator. Also Stone foam overcomes a lot of the issue of streakyness seen on tiles after the application of other colour enhancers especially those with a solvent base.

Travertine Warehouse

Travertine products have increased in popularity, hugely, over the last 10 years. From something only seen in overseas holiday resorts, and imported by top end contractors and interior designers, to a widely available material found in most DIY shops and tile shops across the country.

With the huge surge in popularity and availability, Travertine amongst other decorative natural stone, whether in tile, slab, or its rawest block form has hit the market in a big way. At Travertine Warehouse we have been at the forefront of this increase in demand and have seen many changes over the course of last 2-3 years.

Travertine has long been one of the most beautiful natural stones, and for thousands of years been a much used building material. This beauty has remained, and now with the increase in popularity which has driven the cost of natural stone flooring and wall tiles down so much, it really is something that everyone can have in their home to admire every day. From bathroom tiles to garden patio slabs, Travertine has once again become a formidable product throughout the building industry, and one that will last the test of time, with surprising longevity, and low maintenance in most applications.

But what if looking good just isn’t enough?

As a direct importer of natural stone we have strong relationships with our suppliers in Turkey, enabling us to source a very high quality of stone, something which we are very proud of. This is something that many retailers or resellers cannot provide, as many smaller retailers and shops do not import directly; therefore rely on a middle man, which is something that only causes problems. Our efforts to keep our quality high and work only with quarries that have strong quality control measures in place has certainly made a huge impact on the Travertine we deliver to our customers on a daily basis. We really have seen the good and the bad as far as Travertine goes, and as far as it goes, we know as suppliers to the trade and the public that quality above anything else is the thing that matters.

So if the quality is right?

What about colour? Travertine as a natural product is hugely varied in colour in its raw state, but again good communication with suppliers proves invaluable in grading the colour of all our tiles. From the palest Ivory Travertine through to Noce and Silver, we make sure that every tile we send to our customers is always checked for colour, consistency and quality. We know people expect variation in a natural product, but we also know that one tile in middle of your kitchen which was a shade darker, is the one tile that will spoil it, which is why we take so much care with every individual customer and each job that is being undertaken.

We know you will be happy with choosing Travertine for bathroom tiles, kitchen tiles, mosaics and even patio slabs, and we know that you will be impressed with the quality of our products. The possibilities are huge; you need only browse our website to see what a truly impressive material it is.
